About this place
Small plates to share and a leisurely glass of wine set the tone for an evening at deico, where the menu brings together Spanish dishes suited to a relaxed dinner. Visitors have singled out the course-menu highlights: ajillo with whitebait and salted sea urchin, gazpacho and a moist-textured tortilla. The course is one way to try a range of dishes; alternatively, choose individual plates from the menu.
Among the à la carte choices, shrimp and mushroom ajillo comes with house-made bread for 1,400 yen. The Iberico pork tongue and Kujo spring onion ajillo is also served with bread, offering a different combination of ingredients. For a change of pace after the hot dishes, try the salad of persimmon, cured ham and house-made fresh cheese.
For a more substantial centrepiece, consider arroz meloso, a Spanish-style risotto. Options include squid ink; porcini and other mushrooms with chestnuts and Iberico bacon; and clams, turnip and bottarga. The wine list offers glasses of sparkling, white, orange, rosé and red wine, as well as a selection of 3- or 4-glass wine flights chosen by the restaurant. One diner commented that the wine was enjoyable with the food. Taking time to discuss your preferences and choose a glass is part of the meal here.
Visitors have noted that it is worth allowing plenty of time for a meal centred on small plates. Dinner reservations are available, and the restaurant recommends booking.
